Do you sell Dry Ice?
We DO NOT sell Dry Ice at our physical store, nor do we use Dry Ice in the shipping of our products.
Why don’t you sell or use Dry Ice?
Dry ice is the solid form of carbon dioxide. Because dry ice is extremely cold and quickly sublimates into carbon dioxide gas, it can pose threats when used or stored improperly. As a result, many airlines and/or shipping companies do not permit dry ice or have special handling instructions when dry ice is used.
Is there anywhere locally that sells Dry Ice?
Unfortunately we are not aware of any location on the Kenai Peninsula where Dry Ice can be purchased at this time.
What is your shipping policy?
Seafood products are perishable items that must be kept frozen and refrigerated prior to their consumption. In order to guarantee product safety and quality, we only ship within the United States and Canada. We utilize UPS Next Day Air and FedEx Overnight services for express delivery. We currently ship packages Monday-Thursday to avoid weekend deliveries when customers are frequently away and may not be able to pick up their package in a timely manner. For greater savings on shipping, lower product prices, and to minimize thawing of frozen items during transport, we require all frozen orders to be at least 5 lbs. Due to shipping limitations, we must have a physical delivery address for meat and seafood deliveries. PO Box delivery options are not currently available.
Orders of non-perishable items are typically shipped using U.S. Postal Service Priority flat-rate boxes or UPS Ground, which are often the least expensive ways to ship from Alaska.
What is your refund policy?
Perishable Seafood and Meat Products – We ship our perishable products frozen and packaged in insulated Styrofoam boxes insulated with gel pack(s) for added temperature control to maintain safe internal product temperature during transit. We are not liable for orders that have not been retrieved in a timely manner. We will refund purchases that have been delivered late by FedEx or UPS and the seafood order has been completely thawed. If your package arrives after the delivery commitment time, but the seafood items remain cold to the touch, they should be safe to eat. You can refreeze them for longer storage or refrigerate for immediate consumption. Please contact us if you have any concerns after opening the package about the condition of seafood items. Our meats have been fully cooked and are safe to eat if kept unopened in their original packaging at refrigerated temperatures for several weeks.
Non-Perishable Items – If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, contact us to request the refund within 30 days of your purchase date. We can only refund purchases of non-food items that are in their original condition and show no signs of use.
How quickly can I expect to get my fish processed?
While we do our very best at all time to process your fish as quickly as possible, our turnaround times will vary based on the overall volume of incoming fish for the given season. May & June are typically slower month, which allow us to process your fish more quickly. This time of year, we usually have a maximum 24-hour turnaround time and in many cases, if dropped off early enough in the day, we can accommodate same day service. However, as we move into the busier months of July & August, the volume begins to pick-up, and we may have to adjust our turnaround times accordingly. In some situations, this could result in the turnaround times increasing to 48 hours or more. Please understand that we are working to take care of ALL of our customers in order, as quickly and efficiently as possible. As a result, we are not able to bump clients to the front of the line.
